Can you figure out the
real name of the town on the Jersey Shore and the real name of the bar/hotel that gets
trashed in the hurricane?
If you lived in the town during the period the answer should be easy to figure
out even though all of the location(e.g. restaurant, bar etc,)names have been
changed. Most but not all of the described geography is accurate. If you are
younger and not familiar with the Jersey Shore, you are going to have to
investigate just like the protagonist in this novel and pay attention to the
location clues in the novel.

Clue #1 Ocean Beach was the original name of the
town.
Clue#2 A famous actor was born in the town next to the
fictional town of Ocean Beach. One of the scenes in the book was inspired by this
actor's most famous picture.
Clue#3 The character 'Mary O' was a well known performer during
this period and her real name was...?
Clue#4 The Jazz/Blues niteclub in the novel was based on a real
club that featured Jazz and Blues music in the real town that was used as the
inspiration for Ocean Beach.
